چکیده

Mechanical properties of thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers based on either polyether or polycarbonate (PC)-glycols, 4,4'-dipheylmethane diisocyanate (1,1'-methylenebis(4-isocyanatobenzene)), 1,4-butanediol, were controlled by restriction of crystallization of polymer glycols. For the polyether glycol based-polyurethane elastomers (PUEs), poly(oxytetramethylene) glycol (PTMG), and PTMG incorporating dimethyl groups (PTG-X) and methyl side groups (PTG-L) were employed as a polymer glycol. For the PC-glycol, the randomly copolymerized PC-glycols with hexamethylene (C₆) and tetramethylene (C₄) units between carbonate groups with various composition ratios (C₄/C₆ = 0/100, 50/50, 70/30 and 90/10) were employed. The degree of microphase separation and mechanical properties of both the PUEs were investigated using differential scanning calorimetry, dynamic viscoelastic property measurements and tensile testing. Mechanical properties could be controlled by changing the molar ratio of two different monomer components.

For improving the mechanical and thermal properties of polyurethanes based on glycidyl azide polymer (GAP), a series of polyurethane elastomers with two soft segments were prepared from hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) / (GAP) / (PPG) /TMP and isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI) / GAP/ PPG/ TMP formulation. The weight ratio of soft segments GAP/PPG in polyurethane samples is changed as following ord...

Influences of NCO/OH and triol/diol Ratios on the Mechanical Properties of Nitro-HTPB Based Polyurethane Elastomers

The present study describes the effect of NCO/OH and triol/diol ratios on the mechanical properties of Nitro functionalized Hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (Nitro-HTPB) elastomers. The progress of the cure reaction of Nitro-HTPB and toluene diisocyanate (TDI) is evaluated by following up the variations in the IR absorption bands of the NCO stretching and the CO ...

Polyurethanes are the most well known polymers used to make a binder in high energy material. Polyurethanes aregenerally synthesized by the reaction of diisocyanates and polyols and chain extender. These polymers are often two-phase morphology.Chain extenders are small diols or diamines that are inserted to the hard segment of of polyurethane chain. chemical structure of chain extender, the ...

Poly(caprolactone-co-oxo-crown ether)-based poly(urethane)urea for soft tissue engineering applications.

Random copolymers of epsilon-caprolactone and 2-oxo-12-crown-4 ether, poly(CL-co-OC), were used as soft segments in the synthesis of a set of poly(urethane)urea thermoplastic elastomers. With increasing OC content, the soft segment crystallinity decreased, which influenced the mechanical properties: strain induced crystallization disappeared upon the introduction of OC into poly(CL). The materi...
